The owner of a knife shop contacted us
to see if we could help him solve a problem he was experiencing with a drain grate in the floor of his workspace. Repairing and building knives over the years, the shop owner estimated between himself and his employees, they had probably dropped and lost $300 worth of parts down that old drain grate every year.
Other than collecting dirt and grime,
the grate serves no purpose to his shop, and he was tired of the grate stealing tools and parts. Despite numerous attempts to fix or replace it, the owner found himself constantly battling the drain grate’s stubborn presence.
Determined to put an end
to the constant threat of losing supplies down the drain, the owner made the decision to purchase a solid lay-in manhole cover from MCD.
Once the owner sent us the dimensions of the manhole, we sent the specs for approval and began the process of fabrication!
After the manhole cover was delivered,
the owner was delighted with its design and function. As the owner placed the cover in the void, there was a sense of relief throughout the knife shop. Never again would the fear of dropping supplies into the abyss be a thought in anyone’s minds. The owner could finally take a breath and forget about the corroded drain grate that haunted the shop.
