The drain grate located in the middle of this commercial storage yard
had one key role: providing access to the stormwater sewer line beneath it. However, due to its design, the company’s stormwater maps had mistakenly identified the drain grate as a catch basin, leading to confusion.
Because the drain grate was not used
as a catch basin, the owner of the yard reached out with concerns about this misidentification and wanted to replace the grate with a solid manhole cover to avoid future confusion with the stormwater maps.
Understanding the importance
of clear and accurate mapping, the owner was ambitious to replace the existing drain grate with a more discreet manhole cover. After receiving the dimensions, we went to work, designing a custom solution that would blend seamlessly into the yard, while still providing the necessary access to the stormwater sewer line.
After the manhole cover was delivered,
